I thought Open Studios couldn’t get any better than my debut year last year. But it actually could! I had a LOVELY time again this year. So many returning visitors, so many new faces. And some new faces that I thought were here last year, and some faces I should have recognized but didn’t. (I’m not very good with faces!)
I was happier with the way I’d laid out the paintings this year – much more ergonomic. My great friend Jin, of the wizard-like The Baking Jin provided what I am sure was the best cake at any Open Studio in the world. My new coasters and teatowels were a big hit, and sales were fab, too. Which makes the sofa moving, cobweb dusting, and geranium deadheading all worth it! But my absolute favourite bit, as last year, was chatting about art and drawing to everyone, especially my younger visitors.
