Rowena asked my to paint both Old and New Courts at Corpus Christi College, as a graduation present from her parents. I included Rowena and her parents in one painting, and Rowena with her grandmothers in the other.
“We wanted to buy our daughter some artwork of Cambridge for her PhD graduation to reflect the six happy years she spent living there. When we asked her what sort of piece she would like, she immediately suggested Naomi’s work. My husband and I looked through Naomi’s website and realised we could commission works, which we decided to do. Our daughter then met with Naomi to discuss possible pieces. As a family, we decided to commission two pieces, both of our daughter’s college, with one showing our family on graduation day and one depicting our daughter with her two grandmothers. Naomi was brilliant throughout the process: keeping in touch with updates, working off old photographs as we couldn’t travel to Cambridge to meet her, and helping our daughter select the views of her college that would work best. The two pieces Naomi created for us are wonderful. She captures the beauty and spirit of Cambridge in her work and we are so delighted to have two unique pieces of art that our daughter can treasure forever.” Rowena’s mum
