Sophie asked me to create a painting that showed this lovely building at its best. The weather turned just as I arrived to take the photos – an ominous black sky followed by a real downpour. So, as there was a tight deadline for this one, I just had to imagine the sun!
“Naomi captured beautifully the quiet history and majesty of the Red Lion Hotel at Whittlesford. My father has owned the building for 42 years, met my mother there 60 years again and it gave him his first taste of success as a poor immigrant so it’s an important place to us. We treasure the painting she did for his 80th Birthday, it’s very special – and she managed to complete it with only a few weeks notice!” Sophie Gregorios Pippas
